Many events are planned for Carbondale and the SIU Campus for the Eclipse. If you’re looking for a guided viewing of the eclipse, attend the watch party at Saluki Stadium on Monday. SIU has teamed with Adler Planetarium, NASA EDGE, and more for a fun-filled total solar eclipse experience. Doors open at 11am.

The Crossroads Art and Craft Fair is Sunday & Monday from 10:30am – 6pm
on Saluki Row on Arena Drive near the Banterra Center. This art and craft fair is a unique opportunity to find quality handmade wares.

Rend Lake will host a weekend full of free eclipse activities April 6-8th. Live animal programs, educational eclipse presentations, a kids concert and outdoor movie will precede the eclipse. The will also have multiple viewing locations available to the public, include Dam West Recreation Area, Spillway Recreation Area, and North Marcum Recreation Area. These designated viewing sites will have food vendors on site and Park Rangers available to assist visitors.
