ON THIS DAY in 1933, Jack Kirkland’s play, “Tobacco Road”, premieres in NYC and became the longest-running play of its time.

The City of Marion’s Very Merry Holiday Market is this weekend around Tower Square Plaza. Shop vendors with specialty wares and holiday gifts in a festive outdoor environment. FREE Horse and Pony rides, children’s activities and free holiday movies will be shown inside the Marion Civic Center. Shop Friday from 4 to 8, Saturday from Noon to 8 and Sunday from Noon to 6.
