Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Dental Hygiene Program is providing it's annual free dental service Friday to children who don't recieve regular dental care.
"Give Kids A Smile Day" Coordinator Jennifer Meyer says the free service is valuable to southern Illinois families becuase many lack dental insurance. The program serves about 240 children every year and can save a family up to $250 per child.
The service will be provided on March 1st from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the SIU Carbondale Community Dental Center.
Vision screenings will also be available for the first time this year for kids six-months-old to six-years-old.
