The U.S. Marine Band’s upcoming performance at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Shryock Auditorium has generated significant excitement, with all available free tickets now claimed.
The concert is now on a standby-only basis, offering an opportunity for those without tickets to still enjoy the performance if seating becomes available.
Doors will open at 6:45 p.m., and ticket holders must arrive by 7:15 p.m. to secure their seats.
After that time, any unclaimed seats will be offered to those waiting in the standby line.
The event marks the U.S. Marine Band's first appearance at SIU in more than 70 years, with their last performance on campus taking place in 1950.
As part of the band's prestigious coast-to-coast 2024 tour, the SIU concert will feature around 65 musicians, drawn from the larger group of 160 members that make up “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band. Known for their excellence in musical performance, the band is highly respected across the nation, and their concerts are widely sought after.

Large bags and backpacks will not be permitted inside the venue for security reasons.
The performance will take place on October 8, 2024, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. and the concert starting at 7:30 p.m.
