Southern Illinois Star Party 2024 set for October 19

NASA is coming back to SIU for Southern Illinois Star Party.

Southern Illinois Star Party is an anchor location for SolarSTEAM National Star Party. This event aims to share the journey of NASA on their mission to study the sun and its influences on space.

SIU Carbondale, the Astronomical Association of Southern Illinois, and the Adler Planetarium of Chicago will be hosting a night of free astronomy and science activities. Guided telescope observations will be provided by the School of Physics and Applied Physics.

This event is free and open to the public, shuttles to the University Farms will be provided. Portions of this event will be photographed, videoed, and live-streamed.

Southern Illinois Star Party will be on October 19th from 4pm to 10:30pm at the SIU University Farms Astronomy Observation Area.
