The Saluki Food Pantry has its 'Thanks Giving Back' food drive during National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week later this month.
The Campus Food Drive at Southern University of Carbondale, which assists students and their families all year round, needs items as the holidays approach.
Community members, faculty, and staff can participate by donating nonperishable food items. Canned proteins, canned or cupped fruit, soups and sauces, and grains are needed.
Donations can be dropped off in the student center's "Crosshalls" on the first floor near the University Bookstore. For larger donations, campus offices can make pick-up arrangements with the SIU Grounds Department by emailing foodpantry@siu.edu. Monetary donations are always welcome on the Food Pantry Website.
The food drive is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 19.
