Southern Illinois University Carbondale celebrates 50 years of its Counseling and Psychological Services program.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale celebrates 50 years of its Counseling and Psychological Services program. A 70s-themed public celebration will take place to recognize CAPS as one of the first doctoral-level training sites in the country. Participants are encouraged to wear bell bottoms, platform shoes, and other period attire.

The event will start with a short presentation, followed by a reception and refreshments. Attendees can bring photos or other small items special to the program's 50 years to be included in the time capsule.

The CAPS anniversary celebration is set for November 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Student Health Services building.
