To celebrate the first anniversary of the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, SIU Carbondale invites the public to see the behind-the-scenes work.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, SIU Carbondale invites the public to see the behind-the-scenes work.

The "Journey to the Sun" panel will discuss SIU's detailed planning, collaboration, and scientific endeavors behind the eclipse.

The formal dedication of the "Art in the Dark" sculpture, designed by SIU senior scientist emeritus Jack Nawrot, will take place afterward.

The free events are scheduled for April 8, starting with the panel at 3 p.m. inside Morris Library's Guyon Auditorium. The dedication will then follow outside the front of the library.
