Gov. Pritzker appoints Edgar Curtis to SIU Board of Trustees

Governor JB Pritzker has appointed the leader of a healthcare system in Springfield to the SIU Board of Trustees.

Edgar Curtis most recently served as President and CEO of Memorial Health, leading the Springfield-based health system for 17 years.

He is a Lifetime Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and chairs the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance.

Curtis is a past chair of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association Board and served on the Illinois Board of Higher Education’s Commission on the Future of the Workforce and the advisory board of the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing.

He received the Order of Lincoln from the Lincoln Academy of Illinois in 2019.

Curtis earned a Bachelor of Science from SIU-Edwardsville, where he was inducted into the School of Nursing Alumni Hall of Fame.

He also has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois, and received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the University of Illinois Springfield.
