Students from five Southern Illinois high schools will be on hand for the Universities Council on Water Resources workshop Wednesday, April 9.

The UCOWR Saluki Water Workshop gives students an opportunity to interact with water resources faculty at SIU to learn more about programs and careers in water resources management. Participants engage in hands-on activities with faculty from geology, civil and environmental engineering, fermentation sciences, forestry and geography. Graduate students from Graduate Students Supporting Science (GRASS) and the Freshwater Ecology Laboratory also will lead activities at this year’s workshop.

Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover the UCOWR Saluki Water Workshop For more information, contact Elaine Groninger at egroniger@siu.edu or call 618-536-7571.

Tim Crosby — engineering, science and agriculture.
