SIU Creates Program to Respond to Mental Health Needs

The Counseling and Psychological Services program at SIU focuses on supporting the mental health and well being of students. They recently received a grant to provide mental health providers for crisis calls and training for first responders. Jaime Clark, the director of Health Services for SIU oversees the program. She talked with WSIU, explaining what lead them to pursue the grant, how the process works, and how this is helping police deal with challenging situations.
