Southern Illinois University Carbondale will recognize 100 retired employees for their service to the university in a ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the Student Center Ballrooms.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. The holiday reception for faculty and staff, hosted by Chancellor Austin Lane, will be from 8:30-10 a.m. in the Student Center’s International Lounge.
The recognition is for university employees who retired between Aug. 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025.
The retirees had 2,169 years of combined experience with the university. Forty-eight had 20 to 29 years of service, 15 employees had 30 to 34 years of service and one employee had between 35 and 39 years of service. One employee had 42 years of service.
