Rep. Miller says the Caucus will initiate legislation favorable to American families.

Illinois 15th District Congresswoman Mary Miller is helping launch the Congressional Family Caucus.

A written release from Miller describes the Caucus as defending what she calls "the natural family" from attempts to erode this core foundation of society.

She says it will initiate legislation favorable to American families, and discuss the effects major legislation will have on the family.

"The natural family is essential for our nation to prosper because the family is the root of self-government, service, community, personal responsibility and faith in God."

Miller says she believes Congress has a moral obligation to protect the natural family from what she calls the "radical left," which wants to destroy it.

Reps. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) and Brian Babin (R-TX) joined Miller in the launch.
