Southern Illinoisans are being invited to gather Wednesday at Town Square Pavilion in Carbondale to protest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress.

This local event is being coordinated by the Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois and the local Muslim community. It supports a nationwide mobilization in Washington D.C. to encircle the Capitol and demand Netanyahu's arrest, amid accusations of genocide and war crimes in Gaza.

Local activists have been hosting weekly peace rallies, urging an end to the war and justice for Palestinians.

The Carbondale rally will take place on Wednesday, July 24 at 5 p.m.
