Illinois Humanities Council & Foreground Rural Southern Hub Present a Documentary Film Festival at Shawnee Community College

Shawnee Community College is set to host a Documentary Film Festival at the college’s Educational Center in Ullin.

The event is dedicated to showcase non-fiction films that inform and inspire audiences. Through real-life stories, this festival aims to highlight underreported topics and foster meaningful community discussions. As an exclusive festival highlight, filmmakers will share the motivation and inspiration behind their stories.

Some of the Featured Films includeI, Too, Dream American – highlighting the impact of DACA’s ending on two SIU students. And, The Adventures of Robert Russell’s Blues – showcasing the Southern Illinois musician’s travels and experiences.

The event is scheduled for Mar. 22, 2025, from noon to 6 PM. Admission is free. For more information visit shawneecc.edu.
