The NAACP is hosting their 44th annual Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast with Everick Turner as the keynote speaker. He retired after serving 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections as an assistant warden. He's also served for many years with the NAACP in Jacksonville, Springfield, and now Carbondale.
