A bill to reopen the Hardin County Work Camp is headed to the governor's desk.
The Illinois Senate Monday joined the House in passing the measure that would require the Illinois Department of Corrections to operate the facility.
Last August, the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability held a hearing to discuss the economic impact of closing several state facilities. The panel voted in favor of keeping the Hardin County Work Camp open. Gov. Bruce Rauner still moved to close the facility.
