WSIU is continuing its partnership with Kroger, educating area children and families about nutrition, while providing PBS Kids learning materials at area stores.
WSIU Public Television and the PBS Kids character Super Why attended the re-grand opening of the Kroger store in Mt. Vernon, Illinois on August 9. Roughly 200 people attended the event.
Afterwards, children and families visited WSIU’s table to pick up a variety of PBS Kids characters’ favorite healthy recipes, PBS Kids stickers, bracelets, food printables, and had the option to get their picture taken with Super Why.
Through its sponsorship, Kroger is not only encouraging kids and families to enjoy home cooked healthy meals, but also helping WSIU to continue offering educational and informational programming through both PBS Kids on WSIU-TV and the WSIU-FM radio service.
