WSIU continues to grow its educational outreach. Recently, the station hosted an event in Carbondale that provided education about solar power to children and families.

The event on Wednesday, August 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., was held at The Science Center, located at the University Mall in Carbondale. Several dozen children and family members learned about solar power, thanks to WSIU partner StraightUp Solar.

Tisha Kosco and Eric Schneider of StraightUp Solar were on hand at the event, which was sponsored by the company, along with Connie Adams and family, of The Science Center, which hosted the ‘Fun with the Sun’ learning event.
