Carbondale, IL – This weekend opens the DuQuoin State Fair in Southern Illinois...
Fair spokesman Fred Huff says the DuQuoin Fair has been in operation since 1923 when it was started by W.R. Hayes.
The state officially took over the fair in 1985.
Huff says Grandstand entertainment this year includes Corbin Bleu, Kellie Pickler, Sawyer Brown, and P-O-D.
The Du Quoin State Fair starts with a Friday night "preview" and runs through Labor Day, Sept. 1.
