Carbondale, IL – Illinois Supreme Court justice Lloyd Karmeier will administer the attorney's oath to 130 new lawyers in Carbondale Today (Thursday).
Justice Karmeier will preside over the ceremony and Mark Hassakis, second vice-president of the Illinois state bar association, will be the opening speaker.
The ceremony will begin at 2pm in the auditorium of the Lesar school of law building on the SIU campus.
The new attorneys will bring the total number of licensed attorneys in Illinois to approximately 86,000.
Other guests of the Illinois Supreme Court include circuit court judges David Sauer from the 4th circuit court, William Thurston and James Williamson from the 1st circuit court, as well as associate Judge Kathleen Alling from the 2nd circuit court.
