A death investigation is underway in rural Williamson County.
Just after 5pm Monday, Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a body discovered inside an abandoned residence located near the intersection of Chittyville Road and Stiritz Road. Evidence gathered by investigators has resulted in the death being investigated as a homicide.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office has requested the assistance of Illinois State Police Crime Scene investigators.
The victims name is being withheld pending notification of family.
