Carbondale, IL – The American Red Cross is putting out an appeal for blood, and urging donors to come out and give when and where they can. You can go to the American Legion Hall in Chester from 12:45pm-5:45pm. Drives are scheduled in DuQuoin and Pinckneyville tomorrow, and Carbondale and Marion on Friday. The Southern Illinois Music Festival continues its performances and events this week. You can join in the fun with Klassics for Kids at 10am today in DuQuoin, Jive with Jazz at 10:00am at the Herrin Civic Center, or in the evening enjoy the New Arts Jazztet at the Herrin Civic Center or Chamber Concert in Murphysboro... both at 7:00pm. A fundraiser to benefit the Perry County Humane Society is scheduled for this Saturday at DuQuoin Keyes Park. Things get underway at 8:00am and run through 4:00pm, with lots of events and activities. For more information, call (618)542-DOGS.
