Carbondale, IL – At a time when many Illinoisans are angry at state lawmakers for the financial mess in Springfield, Senator Dave Luechtefeld is asking his constituents to send him back for another term.
He is seeking re-election to the 58th District seat he has held since 1995. Luechtefeld made the announcement today (Wed) at his Carbondale office.
He says Illinoisans deserve lawmakers who are honest and sincere, traits the Okawville Republican says he has worked hard to develop over his political career.
Luechtefeld says he hopes the public's anger over the budget crisis will force some lawmakers to change their ways to make things better. He says those lawmakers not willing to work in the public's best interest should be voted out of office.
Luechtefeld has served as the assistant Republican leader since 2003.
