Carbondale, IL – The city of Carbondale has announced the J.E.S Development Group a locally owned company, has purchased West Park Plaza between Old Highway 13 and West Main Street.
The Development Group plans to redevelop Gold's Gym, and make the rest of the mall attractive to other retailers.
Kevin Baity Assistant Manager for Economic Development says the purchase is good for Carbondale.
The group is in its final stages of planning for new tenants and will be releasing that information soon.
Gold's Gym is the largest coed gym chain in the world. They have been an authority in fitness since 1965 and part of Southern Illinois since 2003.
