Chicago, IL – An independent candidate for governor believes someone is trying to sabotage his effort to get people employed.
Scott Lee Cohen calls it a despicable act. His office has received well over 100 phone calls from people seeking more information about a job fair he plans on holding August 19 in Chicago.
The problem: those people had been given the wrong date, and not by Cohen's campaign or from fliers that he has disbursed to local churches and other outlets. He believes someone is intentionally mass texting people the wrong information.
Cohen's staff says there have even been phone calls about fliers around the Chicago area with misinformation, but staffers haven't been able to find those false fliers.
Cohen started holding job fairs as part of his Democratic run for lieutenant governor, which he won, but he later resigned his nomination. He says a police report has been filed.
