Du Quoin, IL – It's Senior Citizens Day at the Du Quoin State Fair!
On the fairgrounds, there are two large buildings kept up by the Secretary of State's office whose sole purpose is serving senior citizens.
Jason Van Zandt, a field liaison for the Secretary of State's office, says there are a number of booths set up to offer help and advice to senior citizens as well as veterans.
Van Zandt says the buildings offer services such as license plate renewals and organ donor sign up. There are also handouts on a number of topics including veterans' programs run by the state.
To top off the evening, the fair and the Secretary of State's office are throwing a Senior Prom with dinner and dancing.
