Carbondale Man Accused of Forgery, Exploitation

Carbondale, IL – A Carbondale man is behind bars after police learned he was using someone else's personal information to obtain utility service.

Carbondale Police say 42-year-old Richard Fortman was arrested recently for forgery and financial exploitation of the disabled.

Officers say Fortman is accused of committing the crime between May 2007 and April 2008.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Carbondale Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 549-COPS.
