Fatal Fire in Franklin County

Franklin County, IL – A rural Franklin County man is dead after a fire in his home over the weekend.

Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler says 93-year old Earl Tucker was pronounced dead at 9:25pm Sunday night. An autopsy was scheduled Monday to determine the exact cause of death.

Ewing-Northern Fire Protection District got the emergency call around 6:30pm, and found the home fully engulfed when they arrived. Leffler says Tucker was wheelchair bound, and investigators from the State Fire Marshall's office have been called in... though preliminary information points to an electrical fire in the kitchen.
