Pinckneyville, IL – A hotly contested race for mayor of Du Quoin went down to the last precinct before John Rednour edged Guy Alongi by just 16 votes. Rednour received 854 votes to Alongi's 838.
August Kellerman is the new mayor of Pinckneyville. Kellerman easily outdistanced longtime mayor Joe Holden with 66 percent of the vote in a four person race.
Pinckneyville voters elected Leonard Heisner, Jr. as finance commissioner, Kevin Hicks as safety commissioner, Samuel Fulk as streets commissioner and David Stone as property commissioner.
Elected to the Pinckneyville Consolidated District 204 Board of Education were Dennis Ginn, Mary Jackson, Stephanie Waller and William Moll.
Back to Du Quoin, where Kathy West, Joshua Downs, Rex Duncan and Yvonne Spencer were elected to the Board of Commissioners.
Randy DeMent was elected to a seat on the Du Quoin School Board.
In Tamaroa, Scott Alvis, Lisa Haycraft and Kimberly Stube-Woodside were elected as village trustees.
Douglas Vickery II, Barbara Jaimet and William Vandiver, Jr. were elected to the Willisville Board of Trustees.
Dan Uhles, Leroy Knapp and Colton Woodside got the nod in the St. John's village trustee contest.
