Springfield, IL – Southern Illinois' annual state fair will take place as scheduled this year despite the state's budget woes...
State Representative Mike Bost says the primary funding for the Du Quoin State Fair is in the new state budget. The Murphysboro Republican says it doesn't make sense to cut things from the budget that make money for the state.
Bost says some of the line items for prize money and other awards have been cut or eliminated... so that will have some impact on this summer's Du Quoin State Fair.
The fair runs August 26th through September 5th at the state fairgrounds in Du Quoin.
