Some good news for Southern Illinois University Carbonadle as US News and World Report puts the school in the top 100 public universities in the nation.
SIUC Chancellor Rita Cheng says it's a big pat on the back, and an acknowledgement of the hard work the faculty, staff and students put in each and every day: "These are important recognitions of the quality of the programming that we have, of the diversity that we celebrate, and of the financial aid that we award."
SIUC was also honored just a few weeks ago as one of the "Best of the Midwest". Cheng says rankings like these help keep momentum going in recruitment and enrollment efforts. She says things are looking up for the school.
