A Mt. Vernon man receives a 75-year prison term for child exploitation

A Mt. Vernon man has been sentenced to a combined 75 years in prison.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department reports a judge sentenced 28-year-old Cody Rector to:
40 years for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child
20 years for the Dissemination of Child Pornography
15 years for Child Pornography - taking a photo of a child under 15 years of age.

These sentences will run consecutive to each other.

The sentence is the result of an investigation initiated by the Sheriff's Office Detective Division, who are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, on April 29th, 2020.
