Two southern Illinois men have been arrested for a 2020 firearms burglary from a southeast Missouri sporting goods store.

The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department reports 21-year-old Chayce Harrell and 20-year-old Senque Shabazz Bingham -- both from Cairo -- are charged with First Degree Burglary and two counts of Stealing.

Harrell is incarcerated in the Cape Girardeau County Justice Center.

Bingham is jailed in a different state and placed on a detainer to answer charges in Cape Girardeau.

In August 2020, Deputies from the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to JSE Surplus in Cape Girardeau County in reference to a burglary.

They learned individuals entered JSE Surplus intending to steal firearms and were met with resistance from the store owner. The investigation revealed several firearms were stolen during the burglary.

A break in the case finally came last month and led to the two arrests.
