Democrat Homer “Chip” Markel talks about his bid for the newly redrawn 12th Congressional District covering southern Illinois. Both candidates discuss the issues important to Illinois voters - from the economy to education. Incumbent Representative Mike Bost talks about his bid for re-election and provides details on how he’ll handle the economy, education, and other topics if elected to another term.

About the Program
Meet the Candidates features interviews with candidates running for Illinois state, House and Senate races. Guests will discuss key issues impacting Illinois voters such as the economy, the environment, education and public health. This series is produced in partnership with the League of Women Voters.

With over a decade of experience in public media, Stackhouse serves as the Assistant Director of Digital Services for WSIU Public Broadcasting. The Digital Service department supports the promotion of the station’s digital content and services including social media, web-based membership services and activities, and marketing and communications. Stackhouse's professional goals include creating an inclusive environment where media students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale can gain experience and professional development opportunities in various aspects of the broadcasting industry.
