Illinois leaders are working to revitalize the state’s southernmost city by developing a Cairo Port District. We’ll explore those plans, and talk with city leaders in the river community of Quincy, about the challenges and benefits of Living Along the River. As state leaders continue their work with local organizations to develop a new river port in Cairo, we’ll also discover how living along the Mighty Mississippi brings a unique set of challenges and benefits.

About the Program
InFocus explores the major issues impacting central and southern Illinois with a focus on health, politics, education, and the arts. Through interviews and creative storytelling, the series introduces viewers to the people and organizations hoping to make an impact in the region.

With over a decade of experience in public media, Stackhouse serves as the Assistant Director of Digital Services for WSIU Public Broadcasting. The Digital Service department supports the promotion of the station’s digital content and services including social media, web-based membership services and activities, and marketing and communications. Stackhouse's professional goals include creating an inclusive environment where media students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale can gain experience and professional development opportunities in various aspects of the broadcasting industry.
