Higher education provides access to the next stage in a person’s career – but institutions like Southern Illinois University also provide economic opportunity for the regions they serve. SIUC Chancellor Austin Lane discusses how higher education provides opportunities for students and the region, and a local organization develops work and life skills for those in need.

About the Program
InFocus explores the major issues impacting central and southern Illinois with a focus on health, politics, education, and the arts. Through interviews and creative storytelling, the series introduces viewers to the people and organizations hoping to make an impact in the region.

With over a decade of experience in public media, Stackhouse serves as the Assistant Director of Digital Services for WSIU Public Broadcasting. The Digital Service department supports the promotion of the station’s digital content and services including social media, web-based membership services and activities, and marketing and communications. Stackhouse's professional goals include creating an inclusive environment where media students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale can gain experience and professional development opportunities in various aspects of the broadcasting industry.
