In this edition of In The Author's Voice we talk with Vicki Cody about her new memoir "Fly Safe: Letters from the Gulf War and Reflections from Back Home."
For more than 30-years Vicki Cody was the anchor for her military family while her husband Dick, an Army Commander and ultimately four-star general, lead an Apache helicopter unit. Her new book looks at the life of a military family through the eyes of a wife and mother as well as those of a father and pilot in combat. It tells their story through the letters they exchanged while he was deployed during the first Gulf War .
