Confluence Books in Carbondale has postponed Sunday's appearance by author Robert Bristow because of the pending winter storm.

Bristow will now talk about and sign his book “The Real Appalachian Trail BC*”on Sunday, February 1 at 2 p.m.

Bristow's book retells the story of hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1974-75, when he was only the 282nd hiker to do so, and weaves into the story the history of the trail. The book is available from the Appalachian Trail Museum website as well as at Confluence Books. All proceeds benefit the museum.

Bristow graduated from SIU-Carbondale with a Ph.D. in Geography in 1990. While in southern Illinois, he served as the Shawnee Group Chair for the Sierra Club. He will be giving a slide presentation on the Appalachian Trail to that group in February.
