The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has announced that select sites will be open to the public, beginning Friday May 1st, 2020.
To prevent the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus, safety precautions will still need to be adhered to while visiting State parks and State Recreation Areas.
In a recent interview with IDNR Director Colleen Callahan says the social distancing requirements are necessary to insure that the parks do not have to be abruptly closed.
