The SIU football team will see a familiar foe in this weekend's quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs.
The Salukis take on Missouri Valley Conference co-champion South Dakota State.
The Jackrabbits won the game in Carbondale on March 20 by a final of 44-3.
Salukis Head Coach Nick Hill says the team obviously didn't put its best foot forward that day and is excited to get another crack at one of the nation's best teams.
"Really, when you look at that game, the middle eight minutes the game was completely out of hand. I mean from fumbling a kickoff, to basically three interceptions in a span of about five or six plays, and they capitalized on them. We didn't stop them. They rushed for 400 yards. It goes on and on."
The game in Brookings, South Dakota will kickoff at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The Salukis advanced with a thrilling 34-31 win at Weber State on Saturday. South Dakota State beat Holy Cross 31-3.
