Carbondale solar workers, contractors, and business owners asked to complete a climate survey

City of Carbondale

Carbondale has been designated one of the 13 workforce hub regions as part of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act.

These regions must support the state led initiative of transitioning to clean energy and providing jobs in the clean energy field, which is designed to benefit the overall quality of life for Illinois residents by providing new forms of employment and by reaping environmental benefits.

The Climate Jobs Institute at the University of Illinois is conducting a survey to better understand the working conditions and job quality in Illinois’ solar industry.

The City of Carbondale is inviting solar workers, contractors, and business owners to complete this survey to help grow a more sustainable clean energy workforce in southern Illinois.

There is also an optional one-hour interview via Zoom or in person.
