Dark as a Dungeon: Illinois Coal Mining in Story and Song

Illinois' rich coal mining history, a story filled with immigrants, hard labor, union battles and tragedies, is slated for a presentation Wednesday, April 10, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the John A. Logan College Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Illinois Humanities Council "Road Scholars" Bucky Halker and Mike Matejka will jointly tell the state's history of coal mining in story and song.
