Randall Mathis: Avoiding Danger
Randall Mathis, Assistant to the Chief for Community Information, Carbondale Police Department, will speak at the June 18 meeting of Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement (SILIR). His presentation, Avoiding Danger, will focus on aspects of personal safety and prevention of crime in the community.
Randy worked for the Carbondale Police Department for 23 years, retiring in October 2020. He returned eight days later as a civilian to work with the community as a resource for crime prevention.
The SILIR monthly meeting is free and open to the public. The meeting will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1501 W. Chautauqua, Carbondale. The presentation begins at 10:30 am. A coffee and social hour begins at 9:30 am.
