A local teen and her dog will head to Europe to compete at the AKC Junior Agility World Championships

16-year-old Lauren Ecker from Makanda and her four-year-old dog Scout are getting ready to travel to Belgium to represent the USA as members of the American Kennel Club’s Junior Agility Team.

WSIU's Brad Palmer caught up with them at their home course in southern Illinois to learn more about their story.

The Eckers have established a PayPal account to help them raise funds at ScoutandLauren.

As a news producer and news anchor on All Things Considered, Brad provides the listeners with a recap of the day's top local and state news as well as breaking news at any given time. Contact WSIU Radio at 618-453-6101 or email wsiunews@wsiu.org
