Ameren Illinois launched a new program in 2024 to help public schools throughout its service territory save money on utility bills and reduce the schools’ carbon footprint.

It’s called the Public Schools Carbon-Free Assessment Program.

WSIU's Brad Palmer talked about the program with Michael Pittman, Ameren Illinois’ Manager, of New Clean Energy Programs and Pilots.

As a news producer and news anchor on All Things Considered, Brad provides the listeners with a recap of the day's top local and state news as well as breaking news at any given time. Contact WSIU Radio at 618-453-6101 or email wsiunews@wsiu.org
