The CDC is investigating a multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to Kellogg's Honey Smack cereal.
73 cases from 31 states have been confirmed so far...including one in Illinois.
State Department of Public Health spokesperson Melaney Arnold says symptoms of salmonella poisoning usually show up 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food.
Arnold recommends checking your pantry for any boxes of Kellogg's Honey Smack cereal and throwing them out...even if you've already eaten some and haven't gotten sick.
