Illinois' Department of Public Health announced 2,994 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, on a day when a record number of tests were also performed.
Governor JB Pritzker announced a total of 61,499 cases of the coronavirus disease in Illinois, noting that many of them have recovered and been moved out of isolation.
Sunday brought an additional 63 deaths in Illinois, bringing the overall total to 2,618 deaths across the state.

Jackson County reported 12 new cases of COVID-19, saying all of the patients were at home in isolation. The Health Department says most Jackson County residents who've tested positive in the last two weeks are tied to outbreaks at workplaces outside the county. There are 147 lab confirmed cases in Jackson County, with 45 of the patients released from isolation.
Jefferson County is reporting two new cases of COVID-19. There have been 90 lab confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease in Jefferson County, with 14 deaths and 47 patients released from isolation. There are 609 negative tests so far.
In Perry County, three new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed. The total positive cases in Perry County stands at 32, with negative test results at 338.
