An antibody study can help determine who has had COVID-19.

Cape Girardeau County, Missouri is conducting a study to help determine many residents have had COVID-19.

The study will involve performing an antibody test on about 2,000 residents in the county. Participants will be selected after filling out an online survey with questions about themselves and any symptoms they may have had.

The antibody test can determine if someone has recovered from COVID-19. By testing a portion of the county’s residents, whether they have shown symptoms or not, the county hopes to estimate the extent the novel coronavirus has spread in the area.

Cape Girardeau residents who would like to participate can fill out a survey of interest here. For more information, contact Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center at cgchd@bigrivertel.net or 573-335-7836.
