Volunteers Needed To Comfort Isolated Seniors

Because of the COVID-19 order many homebound seniors are even more isolated.  And, for many,  any mail they get is mostly just bills.

The RSVP program is looking for volunteers to write encouraging letters to those who are alone.

Program Coordinator Diane Choinski says because of COVID-19, it's important for seniors to have somebody to connect with.  Writers are provided with self-addressed stamped envelopes and are asked to write letters to combat the loneliness.

To become involved, call your local Senior Center, or the RSVP office in Carterville at 985-8311.
